IGNITING OUR PASSION: HELPS FROM DR. DEB’S SERMON ON 9/28
God used Moses and his gift of wisdom and leadership, even though Moses himself felt that he also needed to be a good speaker. God teamed him up with his brother, Aaron, to be the mouthpiece of the operation.
Here are three ways to help you identify and use some of your gifts, skills, talents, hobbies, and interests for God in our community, your work, your family, and our church:
1. Conversations w/Dr. Deb – Oct 22 & 29 @ 6pm – Room TBD: We will work together as a group and talk about ways to determine our skill sets and hobbies and how to put those to work for God.
2. Go to www.umcdiscipleship.org/spiritual-gifts-inventory/en to take the Spiritual Gifts Inventory. By answering a set of questions, this tool will help identify some of your strengths. At the end of the Inventory, there will be a paragraph explaining each of your strengths. And below it is a link to explain all the spiritual gifts.
3. If you know your gifts and talents, go to https://colliervilleumc.info/teamjesus to take the CUMC Team Jesus Survey. This is very specific to our congregation. You will be asked to check boxes to capture your gifts, skills, talents, hobbies, interests, and more. This will help you know where and how to plug into our church community through service or otherwise. Plus, it allows our staff and ministry leader to see lists of persons and their specific skills set when we are putting together teams.
