RESOURCE REDISTRIBUTION MINISTRIES REACHES A MAJOR MILESTONE!:
Collierville United Methodist Church is thrilled to announce that in July 2025, Resource Redistribution Ministries (RRM) has passed a remarkable milestone: over 5 million pounds of food distributed since becoming a 501(c)(3) in 2019. What began with volunteers hauling boxes in their personal pickups has grown into a fleet of three refrigerated Econoline vans, enabling greater outreach than ever before.
After beginning with a single partnership at Costco, RRM now rescues perishable foods from Trader Joe’s, Kroger, Walmart, Sprouts, Fresh Market, and more. Thanks to the dedication of volunteer drivers and warehouse teams, the ministry ensures that fresh produce, dairy, and baked goods reach families in need. This is especially crucial now—many food banks face federal funding cuts that threaten program stability and nutritional quality. Food insecurity is real, and RRM’s growing capacity means our local neighbors receive healthy, dignified support.
A heartfelt THANK YOU goes to every volunteer, past and present, who’s loaded vans, sorted donations, driven routes, and welcomed families. RRM’s achievement of 5 million pounds is more than just a number. This ministry milestone is a testimony to what faithful community service can accomplish.
Against a Tide of Need
Recent federal reductions paused over $1 billion in USDA local food programs and cuts to SNAP. These cuts have intensified reliance on charitable food networks nationwide. In many regions, emergency food providers report surging demand and shrinking budgets. This worsens existing food insecurity, now estimated at 13–14% of U.S. households. Your gifts to RRM come at a critical moment. Every dollar donated and hour volunteered helps buffer these broader cracks in the safety net.
